The Clients needed a plan flexible enough to accommodate a changing guest-list without the sacrifice of privacy. This design is based on the regional tradition of rooms connected around courtyards, and the celebrated procession of discovery and surprise typical of historic Santa Fe. Entering from the hard-scape of an auto-court, the visitor comes upon a garden oasis and arrives at an inner sanctum of art and sensuous walls of mass. Protected outdoor areas are available for immersion into the spectacular landscape of Northern New Mexico, any time of day.
