Santa Fe Business Incubator, Phase One

Winner of a short-listed Design Competition, Principal Architect, Steve Shaw, through the office of Joe Cohen & Associates, conceived a Master Plan and the First Phase of construction for this multi-faceted project. Light-Industrial spaces were articulated with shed-roof metal building construction, framed and finished to accommodate a constant rotation of tenants; Offices are stuccoed, with demising walls of Office suites detailed to service changing office-space requirements. Special attention was paid to the corridors, with extra width for spontaneous networking. Sky-lighting at corridor intersections mitigated the tedium of long hallways and provided daylight to interior Office suites. Project circulation was configured to reduce conflicts between Office and Light-Industrial traffic. The build-out of Phase Two would take-off from the shared courtyard space.
